I wish good reads let you do 1/2s。 3 1/2。 I feel like the afterword really described it well “what was supposed to be tongue in cheek parallel universe needed to be escapist， trauma soothing alternate but realistic reality。 Not a perfect world， one still unbelievably fucked up， just a little better， a little more optimistic。”

This book was SO GOOD。 UGH。 Like， I had to put it down a handful of times just to screech like a dying pterodactyl。 Ugh。 I love everything about it; the female President and everything that comes with it， and also OMG Alex figuring out his bisexuality is SO。 REAL。 😂 I absolutely adored this， it was adorable and hilarious and real and a little sad but also just makes you so， so hopeful。

For someone who is a Mexican American and was born and raised in Texas， this book has a special place in my heart。 It sounds silly， but to read about a woman being President plus having a family that has similar experiences as i do？ It was great。 Plus， it’s a gay， kind of enemies to lovers type of trope。 What more could I ask for？ I’m glad that Alex and Henry won and were able to love freely and proudly。
